Dr. Erin L. Cooksey grew up in Louisa, Kentucky and graduate from Morehead State University. She obtained her Medical Degree from University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She spent her residency at AnMed Health Family Practice. In her career she has had several professional achievements; Volunteer Faculty Preceptor Nurse Practitioner Program at Clemson University 2005-present, Partner at Primary Care Associates 2008-present, Principle/Sub-Investigator at Synexus Clinical Research US, Inc. 2006-present,Volunteer Rural AHEC Faculty Preceptor at Medical University of South Carolina 2009-present, Chair-Department of Family Medicine at AnMed Health 2011-2013, District 1 Trustee for South Carolina American Medical Association 2012-2016, Associate Professor for Medical University of South Carolina 2012-present, and Medical Director at Village Community Care 2015-present. She has also held many professional memberships such as; American Diabetes Association, Anderson County Medical Society, South Carolina Medical Society, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider, American Academy of Family Practice, Christian Medical and Dental Society, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Outside of providing outstanding patient care, she enjoys Olympic weight lifting and reading.
